Thoughtful, meaningful results
Every project starts with conversation. We learn how your business runs, who’s involved, and what you’re trying to get done. We ask a lot of questions early and check what we think we know against how things really work. A wrong assumption is much cheaper to catch in a conversation than in finished code.
We’ll give you our honest view and be direct about what we recommend, what each option costs in time and money, and the risks we see, so you have a clear picture to plan around. If we don’t think something is worth doing, or we’re not the right fit for the project, we’ll tell you.
Once the work is underway, we keep you involved. Plans shift as details come up, and we check with you before anything affects scope, cost, or timing. We handle the DevOps work before, during, and after launch, including servers, deployments, backups, updates, and monitoring, so you can stay focused on your business.
How we think
Good development is closer to a craft than a mechanical process. The right solution is usually the simplest one that does the job well, and finding it takes care and experience. We like doing that part properly, without wasting your time or budget.
We’re pragmatic about technology. We build most of our projects on Laravel, and we also support WordPress, ExpressionEngine, and Craft CMS sites. For each project we weigh the risk, the cost, and what you’d give up by choosing one framework over another, then pick the tool that fits.
We’re at ease with ambiguity and unknowns. Most projects begin with open questions, and working through them is often where the best ideas turn up. When we don’t know something, we say so and go and find out.
Different points of view make for a better project. You know your business better than we do, and we bring experience you may not have. We’ll ask questions, push back when something doesn’t add up, and expect you to do the same. Once we’ve talked it through, we commit to a direction together.
Projects can be serious and still be fun, and we enjoy the work. We bring an optimistic attitude and a sense of humour, even when a problem is hard.
